Max Southern is an artist based in London.

His practice is concerned with the making of single photographs. He views the photograph as a space of intention, working through observations and studies to construct specific pictures which evidence a variety of concerns such as labour, the built environment and the everyday. Made for the gallery wall, each photograph is located as a singular, specific object. In working with the single photograph, his aim is to facilitate an encounter that confronts the photographs basic nature as directly possible.
